Terms and Conditions

1. Service

Overpay Not ("we", "us") provides a consumer tool that helps US homeowners review contractor bids by comparing line items to available local labor and material reference data. The website at overpaynot.com describes the product. The paid product is delivered through the iOS and Android apps.

2. No professional advice

Reports are indicative only. Overpay Not is not a licensed home inspector, architect, engineer, appraiser, construction manager, or attorney. Output is not an appraisal, bid acceptance recommendation, or a finding that any contractor is dishonest. You remain responsible for hiring decisions, contracts, and payments to contractors.

3. Accounts and eligibility

You must be able to enter a binding agreement in your jurisdiction and use the service only for lawful personal remodeling or construction projects. Do not upload bids you are not allowed to share.

4. Free preview and paid unlocks

The free ZIP preview may count line items and confirm whether we can check your area and read the quote. Full analysis runs only after a successful in-app purchase. Prices and tiers may change. Store fees and taxes are charged by Apple or Google according to their terms.

5. Data sources and accuracy

We use third-party sources such as BLS wage indexes, Home Depot product pricing accessed through APIs, and AI models to read bid photos. Data can be incomplete, delayed, or wrong for your exact job, materials, or region. If we cannot map a line, we may mark it as unknown rather than invent a price.

6. Acceptable use

Do not reverse engineer the service, scrape it, overload our systems, upload malware, or use reports to harass contractors. We may suspend access for abuse or security risk.

7. Intellectual property

The Overpay Not name, branding, app, and website content belong to us or our licensors. You keep ownership of bid photos you upload. You grant us a limited license to process them to deliver the report you request.

8. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is". We do not warrant uninterrupted availability, perfect OCR, complete ZIP coverage, or that any report will save you money. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost savings, contractor disputes, or construction delays arising from use of the service. Our total liability for a paid report is limited to the amount you paid for that report.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms. The "Last updated" date above will change when we do. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
